FCPPN yearly call for proposals offers the opportunity for successfull applicants to receive travel funds for scientific exchanges between China and France.
The scientific perimeter extends from
Particle, Hadronic and Astroparticules Physics to their associated accelerator, detector and e-science developments and their applications to society.
How to apply
- Upload the form to request funding for 2026: click here
- Modify the name of the files FCPPN_2026_proposal_TYP_CNAME_FNAME_ACRONYM.docx
so that we can easily identify your project; just replace:- TYP by the type of your project (PAP: particle physics; HAP: hadronic physics; NEP: neutrino physics; ACO: astroparticles & cosmology; THE: theoretical physics; ACC: accelerator physics; DET: detector physics and R&D; ESC: e-science R&D; PLD: pluridisciplinarity)
- CNAME by the name of the Chinese PI
- FNAME by the name of the French PI
- ACRONYM by the acronym of your project
- Fill in the forms following the Guidelines section below.
- Send the proposal and/or report forms (PDF VERSION ONLY, Please!) to cheng@ihep.ac.cn, bertelli@cppm.in2p3.fr, kajfasz@cppm.in2p3.fr
Guidelines
Below are some guidelines to fill in the application forms.
- IMPORTANT: the CNRS Security-Defense Officer asks that the collaborative projects supported by the IRN be checked and cleared by his team.
So please keep that in mind when you write the “SHORT DESCRIPTION” and the rest of your proposal.
In particular, make sure to clearly state the mutual benefits and complementarities between the Chinese and French teams that justify such collaborative activities. - FCPPN funding can be requested only for staff (researcher, engineer, and student) exchange. By no means can FCPPN funding be used to buy material or equipment .
- The contributions requested to France and China must be balanced. This is an important criterion that will be taken into account to approve or not the renewal each year. Note that at present there is no FCPPN specific budget on the Chinese side and that the Chinese teams must contribute from their own project money. Note also that this principle of balanced amounts only applies to the funding requested to FCPPN, not to the additional funding (ANR, NSF, CAS, MoST,…).
- Given the present financial context, projects are therefore strongly encouraged to seek financial support from alternative funding sources for Sino-French scientific collaboration. FCPPN can provide support to help apply to any of these program calls.
- As a general practice in FCPPN, in an exchange, the country of origin pays for the trip cost while the host country takes the stay costs in charge.
- In the proposal, sources of funding other than FCPPN should be quoted if they directly benefit to this specific collaboration project.
- Applications are evaluated by French and Chinese reviewers and discussed within the Steering Committee. A summary of the observations and recommendations of the reviewers can be sent to the project leaders upon request.
